ANNUAL PNASD SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS

An invitation to undergraduate and graduate nursing students!

The Philippine Nurses Association of San Diego (PNASD) is offering scholarship funds to Filipino and Filipino American nursing students currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing. The criteria for application are:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited School of Nursing
• Must demonstrate a minimum grade point average of 3.0
• Must provide one letter of recommendation from your professor, teacher, faculty, or supervisor
• Must be of Filipino heritage
• Must be a resident of Imperial County, North County, or San Diego County of California
• Must be involved in nursing and/or community health related events
• Must submit a personal essay outlining goals, achievements, and community involvement

Deadline for submission should be postmarked three weeks prior to the Scholarship Ball which is scheduled during the third weekend of September, annually. Deadline submission date will be posted online when determined officially for the year. PNASD CRITERIA FOR
NURSE EXCELLENCE AWARDS


ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD

• Current member of P. N. A. S. D.
• Registered in California*
• Demonstrates proof of exemplary leadership in the healthcare setting
• Actually involved in Nursing Practice for the last two years either in an acute, ambulatory or skilled Nursing facility (SNF)
• Has a positive impact upon his/her place of employment
• Minimum BSN or equivalent of at least five years of nursing practice

CLINICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD

• Current member of P. N. A. S. D.
• Registered in California*
• Proof of excellence in clinical performance and good knowledge of the nursing process
• Employed on a full time basis in either the acute, ambulatory or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) setting
• Serves as a good role model throughout his/her nursing career

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

• Current member of P. N. A. S. D.
• Registered in California*
• Demonstrate proof of a significant contribution in the area of community service, i.e. active participation in community events

EDUCATOR OF THE YEAR

• Current member of P. N. A. S. D.
• Registered in California*
• Demonstrate a significant contribution in the area of patient or staff education
• Proof of excellence in the field of expertise

RESEARCHER OF THE YEAR

• Current member of P. N. A. S. D.
• Registered in California*
• Proof of work in a research field, education and practice
• Optional - has submitted a manuscript for publication related to nursing research in any nursing journal

* Federal employees who work at Balboa Naval hospital or V. A. hospital are within criteria even if they are not registered in California.
